Mandarin Oriental marks 150 years in Bangkok and The Landmark returns in Hong Kong

As Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group marks 150 years since the opening of Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok in 1876 – the founding hotel of Mandarin Oriental’s heritage – the focus shifts to Hong Kong, where Mandarin Oriental The Landmark, is set to reopen on 1 June following a comprehensive transformation.
The hotel’s 109 rooms and suites have been entirely reimagined by Hong Kong-based interior architect Joyce Wang.
Dining remains central to the property’s identity. The flagship Amber continues to hold three Michelin stars, anchoring a remarkable culinary concentration that also includes three-Michelin-starred Sushi Shikon, Michelin-starred Kappo Rin, and Michelin-starred SOMM on the same floor.
A new addition, BLANC DE NOIRS, introduces a champagne-focused bar dedicated to premium cuvées, further reinforcing the hotel’s gastronomic positioning.
At lobby level, COMMUNE – a coffee concept conceived as a social hub – reimagines the arrival experience as a more fluid and social environment.
Wellness will expand further in July 2026 with the unveiling of a fully revitalised spa and fitness concept. Conceived as an urban wellness hub, it integrates contemporary therapies with holistic traditions, featuring dedicated studios for yoga, Pilates and Gyrotonic, alongside a lap pool, thermal facilities and an advanced gym.
