Park Hyatt debuts in the world’s second-tallest tower – A new era of luxury hospitality in Kuala Lumpur

Park Hyatt has opened its newest property in Kuala Lumpur, setting a remarkable new benchmark for luxury hospitality in Southeast Asia. The hotel rises through the uppermost levels of Merdeka 118, the world’s second-tallest tower, bringing the brand’s signature approach to upscale hospitality to extraordinary new heights.
The property’s arrival is one of Park Hyatt’s most striking architectural statements to date. Guests enter on the 75th floor, while the spa and wellness area is positioned on the 99th floor. The 252 rooms, including 27 suites, are located from the 100th to the 112th floors, offering some of the most stunning views in the city. As with all Park Hyatt hotels, visionary architects and world-renowned designers shape spaces that honour each destination’s culture and context, with Kuala Lumpur’s interiors crafted by GA Group.
Kuala Lumpur’s debut comes at a moment of strong global momentum for the brand. Park Hyatt Johannesburg opened in July 2025, reintroducing the brand to South Africa with a refreshed interpretation of local craftsmanship and contemporary elegance. This year also marks the reopening of Park Hyatt Tokyo, the iconic property that helped define modern luxury hospitality in Asia and continues to be one of the most recognisable hotels in the world.
Looking ahead, Park Hyatt’s development pipeline remains ambitious. Among the most anticipated openings are Park Hyatt Diriyah in Riyadh and Park Hyatt NEOM Gulf of Aqaba, both set to deepen the brand’s presence in Saudi Arabia. Park Hyatt Taormina and Park Hyatt Taipei will further expand its footprint across Europe and Asia, continuing a global trajectory rooted in thoughtful design and understated refinement.
