Opening soon in the Eternal City: Experimental Roma

Experimental Group will open Experimental Roma on 10 October, bringing the hospitality brand to the heart of the Eternal City.

Located in a historic former bank building on Via Ludovisi, just off the legendary Via Veneto, the new hotel has been designed by French interior architect Rodolphe Parente. The property will feature 82 rooms and suites, with Parente’s design drawing on Rome’s contrasts between heritage and modernity, the sacred and the profane.

The hotel’s location provides a particularly fitting setting. Via Veneto became synonymous with Rome’s golden age of glamour and Federico Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita”, when the neighbourhood was frequented by film stars, paparazzi and international society.

Food and beverage will play a central role at Experimental Roma. Roman-born chef Giovanni Passerini, who has become one of Paris’s most celebrated Italian chefs, will lead the hotel’s restaurant, bringing his interpretation of Roman cuisine back to his native city.

One of the hotel’s defining features will be its rooftop, home to a cocktail bar, garden and suspended swimming pool overlooking the Roman skyline, with views towards Villa Borghese and the Colosseum.

Experimental Roma will also feature an Experimental Cocktail Club and a spa, bringing several of the group’s signatures together under one roof.

The Rome opening marks the latest chapter in the continued expansion of Experimental Group, which can already be found across Paris, London, New York, Venice, Biarritz, Menorca, Ibiza, Cannes, the Cotswolds, Verbier and Val d’Isère. Porto and Comporta are scheduled to follow.
