On the horizon: Aman Seoul

Aman has announced plans for Aman Seoul, marking the luxury hospitality brand’s debut in South Korea.

Set in Cheongdam-dong in Seoul’s Gangnam district and overlooking the Han River, the new destination will bring together an Aman hotel, Aman Club and a limited collection of 49 Aman Residences.

The approximately 70,000-square-metre development will span 38 floors above ground, with Aman Seoul bringing the brand’s approach to contemporary luxury to one of the South Korean capital’s most prestigious neighbourhoods. Contemporary Korean design will play a central role in the residences, drawing inspiration from the Han River and the character of Cheongdam.

The Aman Club will introduce the brand’s private membership concept to South Korea, with dedicated facilities including a swimming pool, fitness centre and lounge. The wider development will also feature spa and wellness facilities, Aman dining concepts and a selection of retail and cultural spaces.

The project is being developed in partnership with Shinsegae Property, which will oversee its planning and development, while Aman will be involved in the architecture, design and operation of the property.

Aman Seoul will join the brand’s existing urban destinations in Tokyo, New York, Bangkok and Venice.

Further Aman openings are planned around the world, including Beverly Hills, Miami Beach, Dubai, Singapore, the Maldives and Mozambique.
