Opening end of the year: Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Ipanema

Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Ipanema is set to reopen at the end of 2026, becoming the brand’s first flagship hotel in Brazil.

Located directly on Ipanema Beach, the reimagined hotel will offer 172 rooms and suites, with interiors by architect Patricia Anastassiadis and a design rooted in Brazilian culture and craftsmanship.

The building, one of the tallest in the area, will offer panoramic views across Ipanema, the Dois Irmãos hills and the Atlantic Ocean.

Facilities will include a rooftop infinity pool, a spa, Club Millésime on the 21st floor, and several dining venues, including a signature restaurant led by a Michelin-starred chef, alongside a beach club and all-day restaurant.
