Rosewood, Mandarin Oriental and Four Seasons among major luxury hotel openings planned for Rome

Rome’s luxury hotel landscape is set for further transformation as several of the world’s most prestigious hospitality brands prepare to enter the Italian capital.
Among the most anticipated openings is Rosewood Rome, slated to debut later this year on the iconic Via Veneto. Housed within the former headquarters of Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, the hotel will feature 157 guestrooms and suites across three historic buildings. Highlights include a rooftop bar overlooking the Eternal City, multiple dining venues and a spa centred around a Roman bathhouse created within the bank’s former vaults.
Also slated to open in the coming months is Mandarin Oriental, Rome. Located within the historic Gardens of Sallust, the property will occupy ten restored 19th-century villas surrounded by landscaped gardens. The hotel will offer 108 guestrooms and suites, many with private terraces or gardens, alongside several restaurants and bars, extensive wellness facilities and a rooftop venue.
Rome’s luxury hotel expansion extends beyond these two openings. Baccarat Hotel Rome is also expected to debut later this year, marking another significant addition to the city’s growing luxury hospitality sector.
Recent additions to Rome’s high-end hotel scene include Corinthia Rome, which opened earlier this year in a restored former central bank building, and Casa J.K. Place Roma, which began welcoming guests last month.
Rome’s luxury hotel expansion is set to continue, with Four Seasons Rome and Aman Rome also planning future openings in the city, both expected in 2027.
