This week, MICHELIN inspectors unveiled the MICHELIN Keys 2025 — the hotel equivalent of the MICHELIN Star for restaurants. In total, 143 Three-Key, 572 Two-Key, and 1,742 One-Key hotels have been recognized across the globe.
Here are the highlights selected by our Editor-in-Chief Elias Berthold:
  • The newly-opened Twenty Two New York makes its debut with one Key, while its sister property, The Twenty Two London, secures two Keys — currently our favorite hotel in the UK capital.
  • The Burman Tallinn, also a relatively new arrival, not only impresses with its hotel product but also sets new superlatives in Estonia’s restaurant scene — awarded one Key. It was also featured by MICHELIN as one of the best new hotels in the world.
  • Our favorite in France, Château Voltaire (Paris), proudly receives one Key. Another French jewel: Hotel du Couvent (Côte d’Azur), is also awarded one Key.
  • A modern landmark in Hamburg and a timeless classic in Zürich both reach the top tier: The Fontenay Hamburg and Baur au Lac Zürich, each awarded three Keys — recognitions that feel more than deserved.
  • Iniala Harbour House (Valletta) holds the distinction of being Malta’s only two-Key property, while in Montenegro, One&Only Portonovi achieves the country’s best rating. It remains one of the loveliest resorts with the friendliest team we’ve encountered.
  • In Greece, Monument Athens secures one Key, as does One Residence Thessaloniki — one of our long-standing favorites.
  • Congratulations to Corinthia Bucharest, which shines with two Keys. We’ll be there soon to experience it firsthand.
  • In Turkey, the Four Seasons Sultanahmet Istanbul earns three Keys, reaffirming its place as a masterpiece of luxury hospitality.
  • Georgia sees a spectacular debut: the newly opened The Telegraph Tbilisi takes the country’s highest score right from the start — an extraordinary achievement and immediately on our bucket list for upcoming travels.
  • Finally, warm congratulations to Four Seasons Kuwait and Four Seasons Doha, each receiving one Key, both delivering the trusted Four Seasons experience in the region.
